imageThere is no doubt about Peter’s status in the art fraternity with the recent acquisition of one of his artworks by the Southampton City Art Gallery.

Collectors of his work have known for a decade and half the quality and depth that his artworks achieve. Recently, a painter of mainly Purbeck subjects, Peter has spent long periods in France. A change in location has produced work surprisingly different, stretching his imagination to create in an environment so completely different from those previously experienced.

Peter has an inquisitive and restless mind, always re-working, hoping to find a moment of inspiration that will transform the hard work of everyday painting into a work of artistic relevance. Continually producing images that titillate the imagination to search for visual diversity, he is a wonderful observer and interpreter of the nature around him.

Ever experimenting with the tactile possibilities of his medium and his seemingly endless technique puts him in a position with few peers. The final works possess without a doubt a wonderful completeness that places them with the very best in his oeuvre.

Time being the great arbitrator in all that is good in artistic endeavour, must hold Peter’s work in its highest regard.
